Information for educators:
The textbook *Say: Hello!* uses a functional grammar approach—we move from meaning to form. The topics have been selected in accordance with the national educational standards for Russian as a foreign language at the elementary level.
The vocabulary has been selected with the target age group (ages 7 and up) in mind and in accordance with the basic-level vocabulary list for Russian as a foreign language.
The textbook is designed for children who speak one of the languages of the Indo-European group as a first language, so phonetics and intonation constructions are incorporated into the tasks themselves and are not emphasized in separate sections.
Each of the 12 sections includes tasks for all 4 types of speech activities (reading, writing, speaking, listening), but the teacher is advised to take extra care to ensure that they are reflected in the outline of each lesson.
