Creative and literary tasks for reading and analyzing Kir Bulychev's story "Alice's Birthday."
This manual is designed for children 9+ with a good knowledge of Russian (minimum B1). The manual trains basic skills of working with the fiction text of the Russian elementary school program on the basis of an exciting and modern work.
The manual consists of 5 sections. The sections are organized in such a way that the students read the story gradually (at the beginning of each section there are chapters to be read before proceeding to it).
At the beginning of each section there are tests of knowledge of the text. This is followed by analytical and literary tasks. At the end of each section there is a creative assignment (oral or written).
The answers to the tests can be found at the end of the manual.

– genres of literature
– main and secondary characters
– plot
– defining the theme of a work or passage in a single sentence
– essay
– expressing one's opinion and reasoning.
Additionally, there is a debate scenario on the topic "Changing the past: pros and cons," where students can try their hand at being researchers, explore the topic of traveling to the past, form their own opinions, and argue their case.
