"правильный" Урок РКИ для детей

Только что провела очередную консультацию на тему преподавания РКИ детям. Интересно, что большинство вопросов, которые волнуют учителей, одни и те же:

We covered the topic, but the child didn't remember anything.

Why do children get bored in class?

How can you get "quiet types" to open up?

Simply put, they didn't just "memorize the words"; they were able to use them.

Knowing a language ≠ being able to speak it.

Many teachers provide good material and explain everything… but by the end of the lesson, the child still can’t say a word.

Why?

Because knowing a language doesn't mean you can speak it.

So, when you're planning a lesson, ask yourself one simple question:

What will the child be able to say or do in Russian after this lesson?

Let me try to explain with an example. Any lesson always has several "layers" (actually, these are three main tasks):

  • Do you provide the words or the grammar?
  • The child learns how to do something with it (ask a question, answer, describe)
  • and, ideally, puts this to use in a particular situation

The problem is that we often stop at the first level.

  • They exchanged a few words—and moved on.
  • Once the rule was explained, we moved on to a new topic.

A phrase I repeat at every consultation: without practice, knowledge doesn’t translate into speech.

Именно в наличии коммуникативных упражнений заключается секрет успеха моих учебников по РКИ и такой большой популярности моих видео на YouTube.

Without practice, knowledge does not translate into speech.

What does a modern lesson look like?

The methodology today is based on a fairly simple logic.

Language isn't acquired "in a vacuum." It always arises from a specific context.

For example, not just:
“Here are some words: apple, banana…”
A:
“You’re at the store. What do you want to buy?”

And then:

  1. the childunderstands(by watching, listening, and guessing)
  2. works out a little
  3. and thentries to speak on his own

This transition to speaking on one's own is the key point that is most often overlooked.

In the course for teachers, which starts on May 4, I will be covering the following topics in detail:

  • How to plan a lesson so that children start speaking
  • How to avoid "overloading" a lesson with explanations
  • how to make the most of your time

Вы научитесь планировать эффективные уроки по РКИ для детей и работать с любым учебником (и не зависеть от него).

And most importantly, you’ll learn how to create lessons that kids won’t want to leave.
